Insurance cover. All exchange students are required to have an insurance cover. STS offers a very comprehensive insurance package, including medical care and treatment, repatriation if necessary, disability, death, baggage, personal property, third part liability, bodily injury and property damage, assault, legal expenses and delay. If you wish to organise your own insurance cover, details of your insurance policy and cover will be required prior to your departure.

Cost of the STS insurance package:

Year program: $1,050    Semester program: $650    3-month program: $250    

Cancellation insurance. It protects students who need to withdraw from the program for reasons of illness, serious injury or death of either the student or an immediate family member. This insurance can be purchased for $295, to be paid with the first instalment of your program fee in order to be valid. This ensures that all fees will be refunded, except the application fee and the cancellation insurance fee.

Areas of choice in France. With STS you can choose the area of France where you want to stay. The option costs $700 and is payable with your first instalment. However the option is not guaranteed and will be refunded to you in full if you are placed in an area different to the one of your choice. Please note that a program cancellation due to the fact that you are placed in a different area does not entitle you to a full refund of the program fee.

Preparation course in France / Italy / Spain / USA. The cost of the preparation course is approximately $1,300 in France / Italy / USA and approximately $1,000 in Spain. The optional preparation course is payable with the last instalment of your program fee.

European Tour. This exclusive tour is offered to all STS exchange students staying in Europe over the month of June. It lasts 21 days and takes our students to 9 countries. The cost is approximately $3,500, payable about two months prior to the tour.

Personal expenses. Visa costs, pocket money, mobile phone and internet, excess luggage, transportation to and from school, school lunches, language tuition, school uniforms, club fees, clothing, toiletries, excursions and other personal travelling expenses are not covered in the program fee.
