High school in Austria
Austrians attend high school from age ten to eighteen (first to eighth grade).
Most exchange students are placed in the 5th, 6th or 7th grade, depending on their age and language skills.
The most common subjects (basic subjects) are English, German, Mathematics, History and Biology, Sports, Music, Physics and Geographics. You will be able to choose other subjects as well.
You will go to school five days a week, or even six as some schools do have lessons on saturdays. But the school days are quite short. Classes start just before 8am and finish early afternoon. The school year starts mid-September.
Many sports, musical classes and school trips will be on offer in your school.
