Denmark

- home of an Australian Princess

You will be reminded of fairy tales when walking around Copenhagen, a beautiful capital city dating from medieval times or when visiting one of the many castles in Denmark. Medieval churches next to ancient villages and towns dating from 900 are very common. Denmark has also one of the world’s oldest monarchy. Queen Margrethe II is the Head of State and the Royal Family is very popular. First in the line of Danish monarchs was Gorm the Old, who died around 940 when Danes were known and feared as the Vikings. Last in the line are our very popular Australian Princess and son!
