Finland
- the land of thousands of lakes
Water and forest cover 80% of the Finnish land. That's why Finland is known as the land of thousands of lakes. Someone actually managed to count 187,888 lakes and 179,584 islands!
In autumn the nature changes colors and turns into yellow, red and orange. In winter the land is covered with snow. When spring comes, the snow melts and the nature wakes up from its winter sleep with the arrival of the migrant birds.
In Finland you can find both peaceful and deserted areas with no inhabitants for miles and modern and busy cities.
Santa Claus has lived in Lapland, North of the country, for hundreds of years. But Finland is also a country famous for its high technology and florishing industries.
