A lot to do and enjoy
- from having a cafe to skiing in the Alps!
Being in France without going to a café is like missing out on the cake at Grandma’s birthday party. France is teeming with cafés and all of them have classic French specialities on the menu.
French are very fond of individual sports and spending time outdoors. Fishing, tennis, climbing, skiing and various water sports are only a few of the popular activities. Cycling is also very popular in the country of the famous Tour de France. Every year, from mid June to mid July, the international competition is followed by millions of fans from all over the world.
Soccer is the most popular team sport. Nearly every city, town and village in France has its own team and active fan club. Rugby is also popular, especially in the south west. France has national teams of world class in both sports.
But France is not only about sports of course. There are so many historic sights, museums, art galleries and other national landmarks to discover.
On weekends teenagers enjoy getting together at a local cafe, going to the movies, shopping, going to house parties, joining in outdoor activities and sports etc.
On weeknights most teenagers get home at around 6pm (after school) and concentrate on their homework before having dinner with their family. The school days are quite long and most teenagers don't have after school activities. But they make up for it on weekends and on their holiday breaks
