High School in Argentina

Most of the secondary schools welcoming exchange students are semi public or private, so you might be expected to pay an additional fee to our program fee (from USD 100 to USD 500).

The uniform is compulsory in most schools and teachers are adressed in a very formal way. Schools have also very strict rules in regard to attendance and general behaviour.

Argentinean teenagers get up very early in the morning and start school at around 8am. Before the classes start, all students are gathered in the principal hall and have to remain quiet while the flag is hoisted. In some schools the national anthem is also sung.

Most schools have classes in the morning only. Students go home for lunch and move on to their own activities in the afternoon, which are usually studying their subjects or studying a foreign language, attending theatre classes or sports activities.

Some schools also offer workshops in theatre, chorus singing, ecology, photography, arts etc.
