Schools in Brazil are not the centre of social activities as in many other countries. They are considered to be educational institutions only. Your activities will be planned by your host family and friends.

Brazilian fondness for sports is shown by the existence of some 8,000 sports clubs throughout the country. No other sport in Brazil can however compare in popularity to soccer, in Brazil called futebol.

During the first couple of months you will probably be mainly with your host brothers/sisters and their friends. You will also make your own friends through school and other activities you will join in. Brazilians are very friendly and your social life will be very busy.

The night life in Brazil has a lot to offer, especially when it comes to dancing , “cafés” or eating out. Most Brazilians don't go out until after nine o'clock in the evening or even later. Your host family will make sure you discover the excitement of living in Brazil!
