Application and preparation
Application - To apply to our program you can either fill in the form on our website or order a brochure and send the pre-application form by mail. If you fill in the form on our website you will have to send the $95 application fee and the copy of your latest school report by mail to confirm.
Interview - After we receive your pre-application form and $95 fee, we will contact you to schedule your interview with a STS representative. The purpose of the interview is to assess your suitability to an exchange program. You and your parents can also prepare all the questions you have in regard to the program and to our organisation. The STS representative will be happy to answer them and to give you more information.
Acceptance to the program - You will have to complete the STS application file, write an essay, provide references from your teachers and get a medical check. We will confirm your suitability and acceptance to our program only after we receive your complete application file and first payment of $900. Should you not be accepted to our program, your first payment of $900 will be refunded in full.
Your own personal trainer - Once you have been accepted, we will give you the opportunity to contact one of our returnees or current students. They will be happy to give you any advice you may need and share their experience with you.
Host a student - Another way to get ready is to host a student before your own exchange program. It's a great opportunity for you and your family to learn more about the feelings and experiences of an exchange student. And you can benefit from our Host & Go discount at the same time!
Pre-departure information and assistance - Before your departure you will receive
- a comprehensive information kit about the program and your host country
- a self study language course package for most non-English speaking countries
- detailed information on your host family and high school placement
- tips and assistance from STS staff for any questions you may have
- full assistance with your visa application
- information about your flight and other travel arrangements
