When can I go?

The age of exchange students has become more diverse over the years. Many students still prefer to go after their Year 12, however more and more choose to go prior to that and for a program as long as a year.

For your Year 10

Many high school and colleges in Australia will allow you to be credited for your studies overseas, so that you do not have to repeat your Year 10 when you return home but go straight into Year 11. For most schools your credits for your overseas program will depend however on your school results in Australia. Some schools also require that your program implies learning or improving your skills in a second language. You and your parents will have to talk to your career advisor or guidance officer at school. If you prefer not to miss any schooling in Australia or if you cannot get credits for studies overseas, you can still opt for one of our short stay programs during the australian summer holidays. Whatever you choose, there is still a lot to gain from your experience!

After Year 12, for your Year 13

Year 13 is definitely still a great time to go on exchange and can be the best option for you before moving on to your university studies or professional commitments. Even if it does imply another year of high school, a student exchange program will allow you to discover a new country and a new culture, to learn a new language and to make new friends in a safe and still fun way. Most of our programs also offer the possibility to join tours especially organised for our students. So your time overseas will still be most enjoyable and your experience most rewarding!
