Austria

Austria is definitely one of the top destinations for STS students. We have a 100% satisfaction rate from students who have been on exchange in this beautiful country in the middle of Europe. What do they love about it? Among many other things, the amazing scenery, the great outdoors and activities on offer, the warm welcome of the Austrian people and the many outings and great support provided by Katrin, the STS Manager in Austria and her team of local representatives. Most of our students go back to Austria after their exchange program or have their Austrian family and friends visiting them in Australia. What they all share are heaps of beautiful memories!

Former knowledge of German is not required.

" My host family is really great and we have a lot of fun together. My first few weeks here were difficult with jet lag and school but I got settled in pretty quickly. My family took me snowboarding every weekend for the first month here and although it was really difficult I really enjoyed it and the ski areas here are really beautiful. I've been on three STS trips so far to Venice, Vienna and to the snowboarding weekend in Bad Ischl, which were so much fun. All the other exchange students are lovely to be around and they are a lot of fun too. I was here for Fasching which was a very new experience for me, to see people celebrating the coming of spring and how people of all ages dress up to welcome the nice change in the weather. Now it is getting warmer and I am going to my German course in a week for a week so hopefully my language skills will improve! My friends and my host family have shown me quite a bit of the surrounding area and it is VERY different to the country side in Australia, still very beautiful though. I can't really believe that I have been here for nearly three months, time flies when you having fun! I am so glad that I chose to come on exchange here it is definitely an experience that I will never forget." Brooke, Queensland

"I couldn't have chosen a better country to be in for exchange, Brazil is full of culture and everyday i am learning something new. I have already travelled to Ilheus, Bahia and Dianopolis where family lives, and is only 4 hours away. I can't wait for my trip to the amazon thats coming up on May 7th, even know i love Palmas.  Brazilian lifestyle is very individual from any other country that i have been to; the  dancing, the food, the people. If you are thinking about coming to Brazil on exchange, don't hesitate because everybody is so welcoming and a lot of fun. Eu Saudade Australia, Tchau :)" Grace, Victoria

"I lived in the province of Toledo, in a real picturesque village full of friendly people. Everyone knew everyone and i t was like family. Even though I was a little shy at the start because of the Spanish language, the people were so welcoming, helpful and friendly, that I made a lot of friends. Life in Spain is beautiful, very care free, relaxed and treasured by people who live the most of every moment." Georgia, South Australia
