STS offers a number of scholarships for each main departure (January and August) and each applicant does have a great chance to win. Each scholarship is worth $1,000 to $2,500.

To apply for a scholarship you must first apply onto our program, go through the application  process including an interview by an STS representative and send us your completed  application documents with the first payment due of $900.

Scholarships are only open to students who have been accepted onto a year or semester program (not available for short stay programs, summer programs or other STS programs on offer).

All scholarship applications have to be received by STS Head Office by:

April 30, 2008 / For students departing in August 2008

October 15, 2008 / For students departing in January 2009

All applicants are required to provide a separate portfolio including:

• An essay of one to two pages stating why you are eligible for the scholarship and why you would be a perfect ambassador for Australia in your host country,
• A letter from your School Principal supporting your application,
• Certificates of achievement (academic, sports, arts  or community work),
• Details of any artistic, musical or other activities where you have gained recognition,
• Two references from any of the following people: employer,  sporting coach, l eader of a community project you have undertaken,  teacher of any extra curricular activities you are involved in.
