The best way to prepare for your exchange program is for your family to host a student before you go. You and your family will then have the opportunity to discover a new culture and a new language through your new family member, and most importantly to learn more about the feelings and experiences of an exchange student. It will also reduce your own program fee of approximately 30% depending on your program and destination.

To encourage the families of our students to give it a go, we offer a discount of $3,000 for a year or $1,500 for a semester of hosting.

How does it work?

• If your family hosts an STS student for 11 months before your departure, a discount of $3,000 will be deducted from the program fee payable to STS. 
• If your family hosts for 6 months prior to your departure and then for 5 months after your departure, a discount of $1,500 will be deducted from the program fee payable to STS and an extra discount of $1,500 will be reimbursed to your family at the end of the hosting program.

Hosting reward

Your family can also start hosting while you are overseas or even after your return to Australia. Hosting an exchange student will be a nice way to reciprocate the generosity shown by the family and the country who welcomed you. STS will offer to your family a reward of $3,000 for a year or $1,500 for a semester of hosting. Our way to thank you!
