Benedetta from Italy

Benedetta, 17, lives in a seaside town in the north of Italy and so she spends most of the summer at the beach with her friends or out sailing as she recently obtained a certificate. She also teaches young children to swim and is going for her life guard licence. Benedetta enjoys the cinema, and her dream is to one day become a director. She is attracted to Japanese culture and reads "Manga" books. Benedetta has an older sister who is 18 and a younger sister who is 9.

Tommi from Finland

Coming from Helsinki in Finland, Tommi has been playing the acoustic guitar for 9 years and electric guitar for 3 years. He has been in an acoustic guitar band for 7 years, competing in Finnish competitions. He enjoys performing and doesn't get nervous. Tommi, 17, also plays handball, trains 5 days a week and is keen to continue in Australia. He goes snowboarding, cross country skiing or ice skating with his family. In summer he's into biking or rollerblading.

Antonia from Switzerland

Living all her life in a little village, 15 mins out of Lucerne, Antonia is looking forward to experiencing the ocean, surfing and seeing all the different fauna & flora of Australia. She is in a musical theatre group and loves the combination of dancing, singing & theatre. Antonia also plays the guitar. She is in a kayaking club, training every week, enjoys swimming, skiing and reading. Antonia is 17 and has one older brother.

Fredrik from Sweden

Fredrik hopes that you will pick him to be your host son out of the 6 billion people on earth. Fredrik's family is very important to him as they have so much fun together, sailing in summer and skiing in winter. He has also been a crew member on a sailing ship with a group of teenagers. Fredrik who is 16 would like to get on a football or rugby team as he has tried American football and enjoyed it. He also enjoys drawing and modern design. People describe Fredrik as very social, friendly and outgoing.

Stephanie from Germany

Stephanie is from Steinhude in the northern part of Germany. She enjoys meeting her friends, goes windsurfing & sailing on the lake in her town and is practicing for her sailing exam. She goes swimming in summer, plays handball, volleyball, soccer, basketball and enjoys jogging and rollerblading as well. In winter she likes ice skating and playing ice hockey on the lake. Stephanie is 16 and has just done a dance course. She enjoys listening to music & walking the dog with her friend as she doesn't have any pets but would love to have one.

Andrea from Italy

Andrea is 17 and lives in Rome. He is an active Catholic attending church and his church youth group weekly. Andrea would like to join a youth group while in Australia. He also enjoys listening to music and playing the drums. His sports are volleyball, soccer, swimming and karate. He also enjoys reading and drawing. Andrea helps people use their computer and also babysits. He loves and respects nature and as a child often went to the mountains with his family to climb and run through the meadows.

Malin from Norway

Malin is from Fredrikstad about an hour from Oslo the capital of Norway. Malin is a born leader helping out with group work at school. Malin says she is optimistic, open, with lots of energy & enthusiasm, curious & loves achieving new experiences. She plays soccer and her team came 3rd in the national competition. She also plays handball, enjoys drawing & painting, reading, watching TV and working on the internet. Malin is just 16 and has dreamt of coming to Australia since she was 10.

Joel from Finland

Joel is a 17-year-old boy from Vantaa in Finland. He is a sporty young man and his hobbies also include skateboarding and playing the drums. He loves discussing anything from chit chat to politics and is looking forward to improving his English as he only uses it in school. He is studying electricity as well as his baccalaureate. Joel has an 11-year-old sister and is used to doing chores at home & will be happy to help out at your place.

Klara from Sweden

Klara is from the university cit of Uppsala in Sweden. Turning 17 just before her arrival in Australia she is looking forward to learning a lot while here. Klara likes to spend time with family and friends, her whole families goes sailing regularly. Her sports are snowboarding, aerobics and tennis. She also sings in a choir and has been playing the piano for 10 years. Klara states she eats almost all foods but prefers healthy food.
